I’ll get the boring logistical stuff out of the way before we jump to what you actually care about, this blog is for you to enjoy, but I need at least some recognition, so with that little disclaimer out of the way: Hello, my name is Josh Conturo; I’m a student at Capital University majoring in Emerging Media with an emphasis in Journalism, as well as minoring in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. But as I said, I know you don’t care about that. You want to know why you should listen to what I have to say.

Well, here we go. I have wanted to be an automotive journalist for about a year or so. I have been an avid reader of car magazines from all over the world, including but not limited to TopGear, Car and Driver, and MotorTrend, for years and have been a car fanatic for much longer. This passion, like many others I presume, arose from playing Need for Speed video games and watching TopGear for hours on end. I have also been passionate about the very idea of Automotive Journalism for several years now.

This means I know and care about my writings.

When you drive a car, you experience a range of emotions, from excitement to happiness, to even disappointment in some cases. A person who does not know about cars will not care about the fact that the rumble coming from under the hood is the voice of a Chevy V8 or a Subaru flat 4.

Having been so exposed to the community and culture surrounding cars, I noticed a trend-that technically, this stuff can pretty boring to average folk.

So, being the empathetic and caring (not to mention, extremely humble) person I am, I had a thought: "instead of going on about numbers and technical stuff nobody cares about, let’s talk about people’s emotions because that is what people care about.” Combine my love of people and my love of cars, and here we are.

Allow me, a car nerd in the truest sense, to be of some assistance and give my emotions and thoughts some attention, as well as your own. Cars can be astonishingly fun, and fun is not based on numbers and facts; is based on the way we feel.

So, now that we got that out of the way, go check out some reviews and articles. We ain’t got all day.
